Yes Scam

Can you hear me? Answering yes to a simple question could cost you.

SCAM Notification

Scammers are looking to record you saying the word yes so that they can claim you agreed to authorize charges on a phone, utility, or credit card bill.

Scammers will ask a range of yes or no questions such as, are you the lady of the house? Do you pay the household telephone bills? Are you a homeowner?

When picking up a call from a number you do not recognize never answer a question with a yes or no answer. Either hang up upon realizing it’s a scam or ask them who is calling and why. This will allow you to get more information without responding with yes to the scammer.

If you receive one of these calls you should immediately report the number to the FTC Online so others can avoid similar calls
